CNYGS uses personal information to:

  Notify members of Society meetings;

  Mail or e-mail the biweekly e-newsletter and quarterly "Tree Talks" publications;

  Process sales of CNYGS material;

  Provide other genealogical related services to its members.

 

We do not partner with or have a special relationship with any ad server companies.

 

CNYGS does not set any "cookies" on its website. A "cookie" is a small data test file that is placed in your browser and allows a website to recognize you each time you visit. 

 

The CNYGS website has links to other sites. These include links to websites operated by government agencies, organizations, private businesses and individuals. When you link to another site, you are no longer on the CNYGS website and this Privacy Policy will not apply. When you link to another you are subject to the privacy policy of that new site.

 

 CNYGS does not endorse any content, viewpoints, products or services linked from this system, and shall not be liable for losses caused by reliance on the accuracy, reliability or timeliness of such information. Portions of such information may be incorrector not current.

 

 CNYGS will only ask for credit card details when joining or renewing a CNYGS membership, purchasing an item on the CNYGS website or when registering for an CNYGS event or conference. Credit card information is never stored on the CNYGS website. CNYGS will never ask you to enter credit card details as a means of verifying your identity or to login. 

 

 Members who submit surnames and/or queries for publication on the website of the Central New York Genealogical Society http://cnygs.org understand and agree that the Society may release their name, e-mail address and/or mailing address to anyone who inquires about the surnames and/or queries they have listed. Members also understand and agree that if their membership is not renewed annually their surnames and/or queries will be removed from the website. 

 

 Members have the right to request a copy of their personal data to have it changed or corrected if necessary. This will be provided within 30 days of request at no-charge. 

 

 Members may also opt out of receiving future mailings or other information from the Central New York Genealogical Society by sending an e-mail to CNYGS@yahoo.com or a letter to CNYGS, P.O. Box 104, Colvin Station, Syracuse, New York 13205-0104.
