HERRINGTON |
I am looking for death records for my 3rd great grandparents, Charles B. HERRINGTON and Hanna HERRINGTON (born Chapman). According to my records Charles was born in Kingston, Rhode Island on 17 May 1785 and Hanna was born on 9 January 1790 in Hoosick, New York. Again my records show them both dying in Clay in 1866, with Charles' death date being September and Hannah's death being 18 October. I have been unable to find any obituaries or death records. Any assistance will be appreciated. Please contact Joel Swanson at jomars@gmail.com |

GAGNON |
I am looking for information on David GAGNON, his wife Flora and their two daughters. All born in Quebec province, we found them in Constantia, Oswego, New York during the 1855 census. David is 50 years old and is a machinest. Flora is 43 years old. Ann is 9 years old and Delia is 7 years old. It is mentioned that the family emigrated seven years previously around 1848. I found no information about their lives in Constantia or elsewhere in the United States. The five members of the family seem to have disappeared after this census. I am therefore looking for the dates and places of death of these people as well the marriage of the girls if applicable.

HORTON |
I am interested in finding information about my ancestor William HORTON who resided in Wayne County, NY in the 1850 & 1860 US census. Any guidance I can get about where to find more information would be appreciated.
The family in 1850 living in Butler, Wayne, NY, included:
Wiliam W Horton 40, Jane Horton 38, Amelia E. Horton 11, Emma Horton 5, George H Horton 3, William Horton 0.
In 1860 Jane, Amelia, Emma and William Jr are gone and William Sr is married to Phebe Ray-Davidson-Horton and their family is blended living in Savannah, Ontario Twp, Wayne, NY.
William Horton 50, Phebe M Horton 39, George H Horton 12 (his), William M Davidson 11 (hers), Merret P Horton 9 (his)
The son, George Hiram Horton, was married 10 Nov 1865 in Manchester, Ontario, New York to Anna Almira Wilkinson. She was a niece of his step-mother Phebe Ray-Davidson-Horton. The Horton and Ray families left New York by 1867-68 and relocated to Wisconsin & Iowa. The family movements after 1870 are fairly solid. It is the New York early history that I am struggling to find details on.

BREWER |
Hello, fellow researchers! I am trying to break a wall in my tree and hope you can assist me. My GG-Grandfather (James N. BREWER) is supposed to have been born in Mt. Morris in 1796. I know this was before birth records were kept, but I am hoping for some leads on the surname. Were there other BREWERS in the vicinity around that time? I can't find much in the way of town histories for that area. He was on the 1830 census but by 1840 had moved to Michigan. He was married to Almira Rankin who was there with her parents in 1820. They had three children there (Harriet, Clarissa and Franklin). Her parents were Samuel Rankin and Azubah Whitcomb. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated. Thank you.

O'BRIEN |
I am looking to identify the sibling of my great grandfather Thomas O'BRIEN. According to records at the Onondaga Co. Historical Society Patrick O'BRIEN and his wife Margaret Ryan had two children. Census records state the family came to Syracuse NY in 1857. I would like to learn the identity of their 2nd child. Patrick and Margaret died at the Onondaga Co. Poorhouse in 1908 and 1891. Patrick was buried in St Agnes Cemetery in the section purchased by his son Thomas. Margaret was buried on the poorhouse grounds. I believe Margaret was staying with her child during his husband earlier stay at the poorhouse possibly during the 1880 or 1885 census. Thank you for any assistance.

WHEELER |
My 4th great grandfather was Joseph WHEELER, born 15 Dec 1775 in Connecticut. He married my 4th great grandmother Hannah (unknown maiden name), likely in New York about 1795-1796. Hannah was born on 27 May 1776 in Connecticut. They lived in Oneida Co., NY in 1808, where their son, my 3rd great grandfather, Richmond W. WHEELER was born on 27 Jun 1808.
Do you have any records of Joseph and Hannah WHEELER in Oneida County, NY from 1785-1845 or their marriage likely in New York about 1795-1796? I think it is likely that they came with their parents from Connecticut to New York after the end of the Revolutionary War between about 1785-1795. I am especially interested in information the New York records may have about where they were born in Connecticut and the names, birth and death dates of their parents. Thank you. ROBERTS |
I am looking for information on my 4th great-grandfather, John L. ROBERTS. He was born about 1770 in what later became Onondaga County. He married Isabella HUBBARD, and his son, John N ROBERTS, who was my 3rd great-grandfather, along with his siblings, were born in Manlius. John N ROBERTS later moved to Moreau, Saratoga, along with his father, I believe, and lived there in 1849, the year John L. ROBERTS died. John L. ROBERTS had a brother named Phinehas ROBERTS. John L and Phinehas ROBERTS parents were David and Abiah ROBERTS. I would like to find out where David and Abiah ROBERTS came from, and who their parents were. Phinehas ROBERTS was born in Connecticut, which leads me to believe that his parents were from there also.

POOLER |
Seeking information on the Pooler family. Specifically Harvey G POOLER. I find a Ruben POOLER from Locke and Reuben goes to OH around the same time a group of Poolers are making their way to Wisconsin via OH. I don't know for sure that Harvey is from Locke. The Poolers show up in several counties in Central NY. Harvey would have been born sometime around 1810-1812. I don't believe that Harvey is the same person as Gaylord of Herkimer County.
